The Buriti is native to South America and more specifically of the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon rainforest. It is a sacred tree for the population because of its multiple uses. Indeed, the trunks provide a framework for the building, the leaves are used to make bags, baskets and hats, and fruits are used in food for the preparation of sauces or even wine and to preserve the women skin. Its orange color is due to its richness in beta-carotene, known for its antioxidant properties.
